Searching for tips, looking for agent referrals- These are just some of the ways today’s Buyers are turning to social media as part of their home-buying process. Here’s an infographic showing how many, and why, buyers are using this tool:
C.A.R. 2014 Survey of California Home Buyers indicated that 77% of home buyers used social media this year, up 25% from 2011 when only 52% did. The top reasons buyers said they were using this tool were to acquire buying tips and neighborhood information from friends (44%). With Realtors leaning into social media, having a Facebook page was the reason 42% of buyers said they used social media for their home-buying process. 35% said they use this tool to gather agent referrals.
Lower on the list was to gather home-buying information and neighborhood profiles from friends (23%), and only 20% use social media to access Agent’s YouTube channel.
