Whether they’re in a position to buy now, or are still saving toward their dream, young renters are optimistic about homeownership. Here’s an infographic indicating the benefits they see in owning versus renting:
81% said owning allows them to live in a nicer home, and 80% agreed that owning is good way to accumulate wealth. 76% believe it is a good investment in the long run, and 66% said it leaves them better off financially.
Community and security were also a factor in people’s answers. 75% agreed that owning helps you engage in your community, while 62% said it gives them a better sense of privacy and security. Of all those surveyed, over half agreed that buying would be the best decision given the current economic climate.
