CEO of a company whose belief is to sell homes without a real estate agent lists his own home with a Realtor®, raising the question: Is listing your own home actually a losing proposition?
Established in 1984, BuyOwner.com is a marketplace for for sale by owner (FSBO) real estate services. BuyOwner.com describes itself as a “powerful online home selling tool matching home sellers with informed buyers while eliminating the costly commission of the Realtor® middleman.” Its website claims,
BuyOwner.com allows you to reach the most potential buyers in the shortest amount of time, in the most effective (the internet) and most cost effective manner (no commission!) possible.”
So, it came as an ironic surprise when BuyOwner.com CEO Al Bennati recently listed his own home with a Realtor®. Bennati is currently working with a Realtor® to sell his home in St. Petersberg, Florida. If you find yourself not grasping the irony of this scenario, just picture Bill Gates purchasing an iphone.
