March 7, Best Coast Beer Fest

Taste beer from nearly 100 of the best west coast craft breweries, listen to the sweet sounds of local bands, and enjoy some delicious fare from the food truck alley. This event supports the charity Cancer for College, which helps cancer survivors realize their dream of a college education. Refer to website for admission information.

March 7 – 8, Spring Busker Festival

This celebration brings colorful street performers from across the country to perform their bizarre talents including sword swallowers, jugglers on unicycles, escape artists and comedic stuntmen to the cobblestone streets of downtown’s Seaport Village. The extraordinary and bizarre talents will provide outdoor amusement for all unlike any other festival in the region.

March 8, San Diego Half Marathon

The San Diego Half Marathon is a premier race that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of San Diego, while raising money to help its communities. There will also be a 5k and relay race available. After the race enjoy the Gaslamp Block Party in downtown San Diego. All net proceeds from this race go towards community service projects and select charitable causes in San Diego. March 14, St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival

This festival is held in conjunction with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and is fun for the entire family. At the corner of 6th and Quince, visitors will find a Celtic Village where it is the year 1582, with a troupe of renaissance re-enactors. The Festival also offers an entire Kids Zone full of games, rides, llamas, face-painting, and other fun activities. Lastly there will be entertainment on two stages with a line-up of outstanding entertainers.

March 14, Mariachi Festival and Competition

More than 10 mariachi groups will compete to be Mariachi of the Year at this year’s Mariachi Festival! Visitors will enjoy world class mariachi music, ballet folkloric, Aztec dance, amazing food and other family friendly attractions. Grammy Award winning artists The Mariachi Divas, American Idol contestant Yvette Gonzalez, and San Diego’s own Orquesta Primo will perform at this free event.

March 14, ShamROCK

Downtown will be transformed into an Irish wonderland featuring over 80,000 square feet of GREEN AstroTurf! The pot of gold will be waiting for you at the end of the rainbow, better known as ShamROCK 2015, the largest outdoor party on the West Coast. March 17, 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

This event will feature artists participating in demonstrations and interactive projects, and delicious Irish food and refreshments. Artist studios will be open and guests will be able to see various artists demonstrating their skills, showing their pieces and sharing their expertise. Original works from ceramic, sculpture and other artists will be available through an opportunity drawing and silent auction.

March 21, San Diego Sings! Festival 2015

San Diego Sings! Festival 2015 brings together 20 of San Diego’s top choral groups in a free, day-long concert. Participating performers range from children’s choruses and barbershop groups to a symphony chorus and from community choirs and women’s groups to a Norwegian male chorus and a Chinese choral society. This is a free event.

March 21, 11th Annual San Diego Race for Autism

Help make a difference for thousands of San Diego families and be a superhero for autism! All proceeds from the race support San Diego autism programs, services and hundreds of local classrooms. There will be a Superhero 5K chip-timed run or walk, 1-mile Family Fun Walk, educational resource fair, children’s activities, music, commemorative medals, prizes, refreshments, and more! March 21 – 22, San Diego Latin American Art Festival

Under the banner of “Let your art represent your country,” artists from Latin America will showcase and sell their works in 100 different tents. Prominent international chefs, such as Javier Plasencia and Chad White, will offer fine

Latin American cuisine. There will also be a performing arts stage. Gallery owners and art collectors of all kinds are welcomed. This is a free event.

March 28, Bikes & Beers 

Ride through the city and finish with an outdoor festival with music, beer, speakers, food, and vendors. The event course is approximately 22 miles. There will be rest stops during the ride, which will be added to the map when the exact locations are selected. At the conclusion of the ride, participants will be greeted with two pints at Quartyard, a recently opened urban park in the heart of Downtown San Diego. There will also be secure bicycle parking, a variety of San Diego craft beers to enjoy, music, food trucks, and much more.

March 28, 5th Annual ACT for Military Families 5k/10k Run & Walk

Join the Autism Care and Treatment for Military Families Fund for the 5th Annual ACT Today! This run features 5k, 10k and 1-mile courses and a festival with live music. There will be 35+ vendor booths, a beer and wine garden, kids’ zone and much more! Entry includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, complimentary coffee, and entry into the post-race raffle.
