A safe Halloween in Chula Vista

Fun Halloween Alternatives
  • Find a special event or host a Halloween party in your neighborhood.
  • Community Centers, Shopping Malls and Houses of Worship may have organized festivities.
Getting Ready for Halloween

Before Nightfall on Halloween, the Chula Vista Police Department recommends a hardy meal before trick-or-treating to discourage kids from filling up on those not so good treats. Flashlights, planned routes and clear time frames for when older children must return home are strongly advised. Children on bicycles, roller-blades or skateboards are discouraged.

For adult Halloween events, a designated driver is a must.

When Trick-or-Treating
  • Staying in a group
  • Trick-or-treat in well known neighborhoods
  • Stay in well lit streets and always use sidewalks
  • Never cut across yards or use alleys
  • Removing any mask limiting your vision before crossing streets

At the end of the day, everyone’s hope is for all of Chula Vista to have a great Halloween while keeping safety in mind. Check out the complete list of Halloween Safety Tips.
